WILLIAM H. ROSS ARCHITECT has operated as a traditional architectural consulting practice in Edmonton since 1977. During this time expertise WHRA has earned reputation for quality at every stage of the design process. Our goal is to deliver integral architectural solutions and consulting services for a diverse type of projects. In every project our priority is designing functional spaces that meets our client needs.

WHRA most noteworthy work includes commercial, institutional, industrial and residential projects.

The Firm

Bill Ross graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, then in Architecture at the University of British Columbia. While at university, practical experience was gained from many sources including summer employment with an architectural firm, a construction company and on a semi-permanent basis with a development company, while working toward thesis completion. Following graduation, Mr. Ross formed a design-build business in Vancouver in association with a small contractor. The concept was to provide a total service or turnkey package for clients. Work included residential and small-scale commercial projects. In the fall of 1974, Mr. Ross moved to Edmonton and took the position of Design Architect with a firm of architect and engineers. Experience was gain in a wide variety of projects including a senior citizens' home, shopping centre, condominium housing, warehousing and a major city centre commercial development. Mr. Ross established a private practice in the fall of 1977. Projects acquired since include several renovations of both residential and commercial nature, recreation facilities, a car dealership, apartment buildings, multiple family housing projects and several other industrial and commercial projects of varying sizes. Mr. Ross holds professional memberships in Alberta and Canadian Association of Architects, the State of Arizona and is a retired member of the Ontario Association of Architects.
